"Life is
a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally."
Lao-Tzu
"Criticize by creating."

Flow is a growing network of thinking, aware idealists
who are motivated by compassion, girded by courage, and guided by reason to create a better world. We believe that we can create a world of near-universal prosperity, beauty, and grace within the lifetimes
of our grandchildren.
Flow begins with a virtual community and web-site. In time, the network produces articles, books, and ultimately a print magazine which
builds community and develops its understanding of how best to accelerate the growth
of global well-being in mind, body, and spirit. Flow welcomes a diverse community
composed of all who seek to create a better world.

Four Personal Commitments:
Reality, Responsibility, Love, and Adventure

Reality: In all areas of belief we welcome the splash of cold water that comes with a more accurate view of Reality. Flow welcomes dialogue and disagreement, evidence and argument. We are thankful for every advance in clarity and objectivity. We
understand that our opponents may be our best teachers.
Responsibility: Both with respect to one's own life and with respect to the lives of others, responsibility is a sign of
maturity and well-being. We realize that a key to caring is to give ourselves
and others the respect that comes from believing that people are capable of taking full responsibility for all of their actions,
thoughts, and intentions. In order to make a better world, we must each welcome
responsibility.
Love:
We seek to act from the heart, with awareness and concern for the well-being of others.
This is a commitment to compassion and to joy. Although we experience
the full range of human emotions, desires, and intentions, over the long run we seek to encourage ourselves and others to
act more consistently from a place of love and generosity.
Adventure: We welcome growth, change, development, and evolution in our selves, our friends, our community, and our
planet. We do not fear change. We
embrace it, we welcome it, we explore it, we advance it. The life of the planet
is involved in an endless process, and we will actively pursue ways to advance the world in a spirit of courage, responsibility,
and love.
Actualizing the Four Personal Commitments: Collectively these four commitments amount to a commitment to spiritual growth, emotional
maturity, a search for grace, creative love, transcendent being, self-actualization, or whatever other terminology is used
by a particular individual. They all involve a constant commitment to transcending
the habitual boundaries and limitations that we all fall into with respect to mind, body, and spirit. They all involve a purpose and meaning for life: We are obliged
to become the best being that we can become, in every sense.
Four Global Goals:
Peace, Prosperity, Well-Being, and Sustainability

Peace:
Global peace is within our reach for the first time in history. Democratic governments engaged in trade with each other do not initiate wars with each other. The majority
of the world's nations are now committed to democratic government and market economies. As this global network strengthens,
peace will increasingly become the norm. Flow seeks to understand ways to accelerate
the advance of global peace.
Prosperity: Globalization brings
many types of wealth to all in those nations that allow freedom of thought, action, trade, investment, and human interaction.
As more nations allow greater economic freedom internally while also freeing the flow of goods, services, capital, ideas,
information, and people across borders, we expect the global standard of living to increase dramatically and continually. Flow seeks to create an ever freer global integration in order to most effectively
improve the lives of the least fortunate.
Well-Being: Freedom in education, health care, and the creation of communities will allow for
the creation of healthier, happier societies. We seek to improve the quality of life in all nations by freeing education,
health care, housing, and community services. Visionary entrepreneurs, given
the freedom to innovate, will create better ways of meeting human needs if we allow them to do so. A tragic irony of our time is that those economic sectors most needed to improve human life are least allowed
to benefit from the power of markets. There is more freedom to innovate as a
vendor of gambling, alcohol, or pornography than as a vendor of health, education, or community. We need to allow well-being entrepreneurs to create a thriving global market in better ways of life.
Sustainability: In order for innovative creators to create an ever-more better world for all, it is
crucial that some are not allowed to undermine the well-being of others in their pursuit of their own well-being. We must create systems of property rights that ensure that citizens do not harm each other. As we become better at assigning property rights to air, water, etc. and better at monitoring pollution,
we can create incentives that will encourage the creation of ever more ingenious technological solutions to pollution and
environmental degradation. Flow seeks to encourage concern for the environment
among individuals while also promoting systems of property rights that will allow for a permanent solution to environmental
problems.
Achieving the
Four Global Goals: Collectively these goals, when combined with the four
commitments, will produce a world in which human beings no longer interact for the sake of power struggles or out of a sense
of neediness or addictions. Flow envisions a global world of self-actualized
human beings, each pursuing goals of personal transcendence while not impeding the pursuits of others. Flow envisions a global network of actualized beings who continually expand their personal consciousness
and their ability to impact other human beings positively. Flow envisions a human
world characterized primarily by excellence and joy.
